A Brief Introduction of Department of Modern Service Trade
Department of Modern Service Trade offers such specialities as Financial Management, Business Management (focusing on Supermarket Management), Computerized Accounting, Hotel Management, Tourism Management.
Currently, the department has a staff of 22 qualified teaching professionals with the usual structure of educational background and age. Among the staff, there are 4 professors and associate professors, 18 lecturers. In nearly 50 years of professional teaching, the teachers always attached importance to the quality of education and concentrates on capability training and students' full development in moral, intellect, physical constitution and aesthetic appreciation, in order to let graduates have a strong and modern consciousness with innovative spirit to meet the needs of the market.
The department lays equal stress on both teaching and academic research and has made some achievements in curriculum development and textbook compilation. During the last few years, the teachers in the department have already published over 10 textbooks and 60 essays .
The department has modern teaching facilities and 3 practice and training rooms, i.e. Accounting Simulation, Simulated Hotel, Simulated Tourism.
In internal management, the department focuses on the combination of
system development and democratic management. In course development, the
department pays attention to the coordination of specialty and course
development, personal academic level and teaching ability. In the teaching
process, the department makes a point of the unity of theory and fulfillment,
norm and special features. In student management, the department stresses
fostering students' independence, self-renewal and self-discipline, and
developing their consciousness of competition and group work.
